Bike Village to officially launch the 4th edition of the Sardegna Rally Race, third round of the 2011 World Cross Country Rally Championship. From May 27th to june 1st.
Only in the late days of 2010 the F.I.M. has made official the final version of the World Cross Country Rally Championship Calendar, that assigns the third round of the season to Bike Village. The fourth Sardegna Rally Race, on which the organizers are working from the end of the 2010 edition, will be held from May 27 to June first, 2011. The Organizers are now ready to reveal the “essentials” of the Rally.
Like the three previous editions, which received a huge media success, the Sardegna Rally Race 2011 will be geared up to the highest competitive level, in a reality of big news and original solutions increasingly attractive. These solutions are mainly the general improvement of a bid already in itself attractive, and comes complete with new, largely unpublished and attractive crossing point locations of the race, and with the confirmation of the unbeatable formula of participation to the Rally, which has allways been and remains the cheapest of the entire World Championship.
Specifically, the Sardegna Rally Race 2011 will still be a race in five stages over a distance of aprox 1600 kilometers in total, but the first novelties will be the new geographic area covered by the Rally, the new starting city and the new campsite of the Marathon Stage. In fact for the first time the Rally will be set in the beautiful Costa Smeralda: the preliminary operations and the start of the race will be held in Porto Cervo, and for the first time the race will cross the North of the Sardegna Island in order to reach Alghero. Then, on an unreleased stage, the Race will move to the Gavoi-Fonni area to reach, at the end of the second stage, the camp facilities of Sa Itria, in the evocative context of its fortress-monastery. In the third stage the competitors will reach Arbatax, in the East coast of Sardegna, the fourth stage will end in Orosei and the fifth stage, the last of the rally, will finish in San Teodoro. These two last stages will bring some new interesting variations on teh theme of the original and the most appreciated stages of the previous editions of the Sardegna Rally Race.
The Rally organized by Bike Village will maintain and improve his important logistics path, confirming the very high level of security, high level competition and hospitality, wich are some of the prerogatives of the Rally making it unique.
Bike Village will grant refueling points distributed along the routes of the special Stages, so the compulsory fuel range is reduced to 150 kms, and as usual navigation will be somtehing particularly “interesting”. If you think that the tracks in Sardinia are always particularly challenging, You can easily understand that the Sardegna Rally Race is the only rally of the World Championship “naturally” tuned to the new rules of the Dakar that favor the participation of enduro biker up to 450cc.
That’s why the Sardegna Rally Race attracts a large number of Brands, Factory Teams and private Riders, and why the Rally organized by Bike Village is the only that collect together the best specialists of the world in a high competitive world-class event.
The winning formula of accessibility has been kept, confirming all the prices of the previous years editions: 1800 € before March 15; 2200 € before April 15, and 2500 € before May 10, wich is the deadline for enter the rally. Same prices of the previous editions also for Assistants, Friends and Family.
