Spain will hold the only rally raid event in Europe with 600 kilometers nonstop against the clock. The place to be is the city of Lerma in the region of Burgos in Castilla –Leon. This event is scheduled for the last weekend of May, 28th and 29th and is open to cars, quads and motorcycles. The cars will have 600 kilometers of special stage and the quads and motorcycles will run only 300 km. The entry fees for the event are 700 Euros per car and 200 Euros per quad or bike.
The special stage will run on the land of Burgos region and will be on fast tracks with not so much narrow sections. Once the teams start, the clock will not stop at any time; all the assistance and refueling time will be included on the final stage time.
Two years ago Filipe Campos from Yser BMW X-Raid was the winner and last year the Baja Tierras del Cid was shortened for the bad weather conditions. Now the organizer has changed the dates and the race will be the later than last year. To protect the environment the race can’t be scheduled from 1st June to 30th September and O’dena Rally Raid chooses the last weekend of May expecting a sunny weekend.
