In the middle of October Baja Slovakia ®, the only Slovak cross country rally, will return after one year pause. For the first time in its history Baja Slovakia ® goes east; the ninth edition will be hosted by city of Levoča and village Vyšný Slavkov.
Less than three weeks before the start Juraj Ulrich, the clerk of the course, has unveiled some basic information about the rally. “We have prepared two selective sections for competitors, with length around twenty and forty kilometres. There will be ten sections in total during the weekend, prior to them there is a short prologue on Friday. Demanding tracks lead on various surfaces, mostly on stony forest roads and through the fields and meadows near Vyšný Slavkov.”
Given the profile of tracks, the competition will stay out of public for the most of the time. And still, every spectator who comes to experience this adrenaline sport will have an opportunity to see the race close and personal. The arrival and departure of one of the sections will be located close to the service area, and also part of the other section goes near enough to see and enjoy it.
Thanks to understanding and kindness of city of Levoča and its mayor PaeDr. Milan Majerský, the official start with a presentation of crews will happen on historical Master Pavol’s square, on Friday 14th September afternoon. Tough tracks where intense fights will be played on are being prepared by Off-road team Vyšný Slavkov. Juraj Ulrich is positive about this new collaboration. “The people of Spiš region have welcomed us with understanding. We will do our best to organize 9th O.R.C. Baja Slovakia ® in a proper way and with respect to nature.”
9th O.R.C. Baja Slovakia ® is the final round of FIA Central European Zone and international championships of Czech Republic and Poland. 9th O.R.C. Baja Slovakia ® is organized by Raid Adventure Team with a support of city of Levoča and non-profit organization Off-road Team Vyšný Slavkov. O.R.C. s.r.o., the leading off-road tuning specialist, is general partner of the rally.
