Let’s start considering Sardegna Rally Race from a “relaxing” point of view. We talk about the “geography” of 2013’ edition and its environmental news. The search for new landscape “pearls” is at the maximum levels as usual, so that Riders can have the certainty to live a global but also new experience, following the “tradition”. Too many Rallies and too many Tours always repeat the same route. This doesn’t happen, and it will never happen, to Bike Village’s rallies: it would be a “crime” not to take advantage of the endless marvellous opportunities offered by Sardegna.
Historical city of Alghero has been selected as departure point for the sixth edition of Sardegna Rally Race. This city of Catalan origin (in the city, Catalan is still spoken, even if in a native variation) is one of the most beautiful and characteristic town of the Island and its landscapes full of beaches, bays and promontories is really exciting.
Starting from Alghero, Sardegna Rally Race gives riders the chance to visit the wonder of the city and of the Coast of the Coral, to explore the caves of Neptune or simply to admire enchanting places as Porto Conte or Capo Caccia. Alghero, one of the principal Sardegna’s gateways, will also facilitate the arrival of French competitors and of riders coming from the Iberian peninsula (let them live the curious experience to “almost” feel “at home”).
The small holiday, of course, will be soon interrupted by technical and administrative checks, all in the paddock placed near the hotel that will host SRR participants: on June, the 1st, the first SRR leg will start (it will be preceded on the previous day by the Prologue-show on Cross-track of Le Bombarde). Since the competitors have shown great appreciation, the first leg will be a long and scenic one but it not will be too hard.
Approximately 380 kilometres will guide riders at first toward East, to the “lunar” inland, direction Ozieri; then towards South in order to reach the departure of the first Selective Sector of 2013 edition. Panoramic transfers have been selected, and two quite short Special Legs with an Assistance Point have been defined.
The second special test has been traced in the North of Oristano, and it will be a technical one, but on the whole it will not be too much complicated. The final transfer will be incredibly spectacular, with an amazing sea view, and it will ends near the beach located among the unbelievable dunes of Piscinas, one of the most charming and particular landscapes of Sardegna. And there, competitors will live the experience of a surprise, the first and completely new one that we will disclose you in the very near future.
Be sure, Antonello Chiara and Gianrenzo Bazzu, together with the whole Bike Village’s staff, are working in order to offer another unforgettable Sardegna Rally Race, but please do not forget that this is also the “demanding race experience” of Records’s Rally!
