The Algarve maintains the tradition of rally raid , with Baja Terras de Alcoutim, thar receives portuguese championships, with cars, bikes, quads and buggies, on June 22nd and 23rd
Continuing the same scheme, the Organizator Comitee seeks to provide participants with a simple rally, easy on the chapter of assistance and attractive terrain. This year, the village of Alcoutim welcomes competitors taking the scenery of Guadiana River. It’s expected a enjoyable event and highly competitive.
The baja begins on Saturday afternoon, with the 6,75 Km prologue done twice by cars and buggies, the for Sunday is reserved almost 300 km (approximately 186 miles). The race is centered in the village of Pereiro, with the starts and finishing of the special stage, selective stage and service park. The race course is technical and difficult in some way, very fast and sliding in others.
Rally Office and Media Room centre is in the Nautical Centre of Alcoutim, Administrative Cheks and Starting Park, and Finish with Prize-Giving in the Guadiana River Pier.
Last year race was dominated by french diver Christian Lavielle in a Proto Dessoude 11. Mário Patrão won the bike competition, in front of Luís Teixeira and Ruben Faria, 2nd on Dakar 2013.
