Zoltán Hangodi clocked fifth best time with the Klement Mosquito at the Superspecial of Túrkeve Cup, first round of the Open Hungarian Cross-country Rally Championship and first round of the Central European Zone Cup in Túrkeve, Hungary. After a winter break longer than planned, Hango prepared for the season opener in good mood.
After the ceremonial start in Szolnok Friday afternoon, drivers and riders headed to Kétpó to complete the 17 km Superspecial. Hangodi and his Klement Mosquito achieved the fifth best time on the track. „I could be happy with the result, but I made a mistake, I ran off the track at a tight corner and that cost me a lot of time. The track is very fast, not too twisty and my car’s end speed is 150 km/h. I haven’t driven the car for a long time, so by the time I warmed up and started to enjoy the stage, it ended. But tomorrow is a new day, I have to finish the race and the goal is a podium finish,” says Hango.
On Saturday the teams complete five specials on two tracks, on Sunday Túrkeve Cup ends with another three specials and a prizegiving ceremony in the afternoon.
