Countdown has begun! The 2014 Pharaons Rally, from 18th to 25th May will be back in the amazing Egyptian desert for a never-ever-seen-before edition.
Grimaldi Lines’ Eurocargo Istanbul ship left Venice’s port in Italy on Tuesday and it is now sailing on the Mediterranean Sea toward its final destination Alexandria in Egypt.
Many other vehicles are coming from Dubai and Qatar with their GPS set on El Gouna on the Red Sea, for the first time the start of the Pharaons Rally.
Scrutineerings will take place on May 18th, a marvelous prologue on the day after next to the beach and then the race starts heading toward Luxor, then through the Egyptian desert, touching Dakhla and Baharija’s oasis. The traditional and always exciting finish line is on Saturday May 24th in Cairo under the Pyramids of Giza.
The challenge among cars will turn out extremely hard and stunning because of the battle between the X-Raid All4 Racing Minis VS Orlen and Yazeed Racing on Overdrive Toyota.
All eyes are on the “prince” of the dunes, Nasser Al Attiyah, fresh winner of his home race in Qatar. He said he is quite excited to run in Egypt. Current World Cup leader, the Russian Vladimir Vasilyev and the competitive Dutch Erik Van Loon will race on the other Minis All4.
