Despite minor problems, HQ Racing had a successful race in Gyula. At Gyulai Várfürdő Cup Zoltán Hangodi and his Yamaha HQ Buggy finished 4th overall and he climbed up to 2nd place in the Open Hungarian Cross-Country Rally Championship.
HQ Racing had in Gyula a race full of surprises but also success: on Friday Yamaha HQ Buggy’s arch-rival, mud provided for some hot moments, on Saturday the driver suffered from allergic symptoms. On Sunday, on the other hand, everything run well and this is reflected in the results: Zoltán Hangodi clocked the 2nd fastest time in the first special of the day and finished 4th overall. But as the Spanish driver in front of him doesn’t classify for the Hungarian Championship, Hango receives the points for third place and this means an unofficial 2nd position for him in the provisional table of the series.
“On Sunday everything was fine for us, I didn’t suffer so much from the allergy and in the first special I finished 2nd. The shorter track I didn’t feel so well, I was just happy to finish in one piece after some of my rivals experienced some nasty surprises there. The car ran flawlessly once again and I am really happy with the result, even more because with these points I made a great leap forward in the championship,” says Hango.
The next race for HQ Racing will be the fourth round of the Hungarian Championship in Domony on 12 July, 2014.
