Zoltán Hangodi achieved one of his best results so far with Yamaha HQ Buggy: in the fourth special of Baja Poland on Sunday morning he clocked the seventh time. The last special was unfortunately cancelled, so the driver of HQ Racing finished the Polish round of FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies in 23th position of the overall classification.
After the great result achieved on Saturday afternoon, Zoltán Hangodi és his Yamaha HQ Buggy looked forward to the two specials of Sunday. In the morning Hango literally stormed through the originally 73 km long track until he was stopped at km 62. Not by choice and not because of Yamaha HQ Buggy that ran really well, but because the special was stopped because of an accident. According to the classification, at that time he was the seventh fastest… The last special scheduled for the afternoon was cancelled, according to the official communication because of the rain and the dangerous circumstances.
“It’s a pity that the last special was cancelled because one of the Minis had an accident. I think everyone is a bit sad in the service park, moreover I had a very good drive until I was stopped. I was really set about this stage, I hoped for a good day of racing, but it’s over. As for the whole Baja Poland, yesterday’s the 4 hours 10 minutes time on the first special was a big blow for us but the rest of the weekend went very well, the car was simply perfect throughout the whole race,” Hango said.
For HQ Racing, the season continues with G-Energy Cup, sixth round of the Hungarian championship in Nagykálló, on 19-21 September, 2014.
