Robby Gordon takes part in this weekend’s Race of Champions in Barbados. In Saturday’s Nations Cup the American dare-devil, who is preparing for his tenth Dakar, pairs up with WTCC champion Jose Maria Lopez in Team America, while his brother-in-law Ryan Hunter-Reay competes for Team USA alongside Kurt Busch. On Sunday’s Race of Champions Gordon will compete in Group C with Lopez, F3 champion Esteban Ocon and best non-Barbados competitor of RoC Caribean.
In the 26 years history of Race of Champions more than 200 excellent drivers of many kinds of motorsport competed to decide who’s Champion of Champions, among others Carlos Sainz, Ari Vatanen, Colin McRae and Nani Roma. For Gordon this is the second appearance after 2001 in Canary Islands, where he set a lap record unbeatable ever since.
