After two weeks of reccies, the first part of Silk Way Rally 2016 is in the box!
GPS and TripMaster set, pen sharpened, maps unfolded and thousands of kilometers swallowed, the Silk Way reccies team have prepared a route that competitors will remember.
For the first legs in the South of Russia, pilots will take just as much pleasure as copilots… A good warm-up!
Although in some areas, the team had to face the first frosts of winter, don’t panic… next July these landscapes will look completely different!!! Sand and grass will have replaced snow!
Once in Kazakhstan, crews will go into the thick of it … They will race on varied terrains, to discover unknown lands.
Navigators will need to be more precise, pilots to sharpen their skills…
The first sandy zones may even push some to use the showels already…
After the steppes and plains, the landscape will be more mountainous when approaching the Chinese border.
The second part of the route will be validated during the next reccies, which will take place in China beginning of Spring, in order to finalise this extreme route, with its one thousand landscapes, its one thousand colours, its one thousand faces, its one thousand encounters…
