Pursuant to rider no. 3, Russian Firdaus Kabirov has been handed a penalty of 1 hour and 1,000 euros for speeding during the departure from the bivouac in Stavropol this morning. As a result, the Kamaz driver, who was the GC leader this evening with a margin of 43’19” over Czech Aleš Loprais (Tatra), has been relegated to 2nd in the general classification. This means that, at the end of the 6th special, Czech Aleš Loprais (Tatra) leads the 3rd Silk Way Rally, 16’41” ahead of Russian Firdaus Kabirov (Kamaz).
For the record, the 7th stage will be contested by the competitors in transit, since the route of the special was made impassable by heavy rains at the beginning of the week.
