Elisabete Jacinto and her MAN TGS production truck still give an excellent repartee to the prototypes driven by the highly thought of drivers Gérard de Rooy and former rally world champion Miki Biasion. In today’s streak from Rallye Oilibya du Maroc 2011, with 338 kilometres of selective sector, the Team Oleoban / MAN Portugal driver finished just 13m 15s after the Italian driver. The time registered by the Lusitanian driver not only allowed her to keep the podium place among trucks, but also to get to the brink of entering the general car/truck Top 10, where at present the last place belongs to the T2 category leader.
“Today there is little to comment. It was always driving as fast as possible, in a streak with wonderful landscapes and very interesting trails. We know that on dunes our truck suffers by comparison with prototypes, but on trails it behaves excellently, allowing us to drive really fast. Miki Biasion has already recognized he is surprised with our pace, and for me it is extremely motivating to be here, competing and trying to put up a good fight against a driver who was rally world champion twice”, stressed Elisabete Jacinto after the end of the streak.
The 4th streak of Rallye Oilibya Maroc 2011, with 245 kilometres of selective sector, corresponds to meeting dunes again. A difficult streak, with a bit of everything which competitors may find: broken dunes, soft sand, camel fodder, going through big threads, crossed dunetes, and so on. The end is magical, on the dunes of Lyoudi erg.
