Due to a very tight sports calendar in the Russian Federation in 2014 and in order to have a better balance of the workload of all the structures involved in the organisation of sports events in Russia, the Silk Way Rally Organising Committee had to take the decision to postpone the event in 2015 .
The Silk Way Rally Organising Committee, benefiting from the support of the government of the Russian Federation and of numerous ministries, understand that strategical events like the Olympic Games in Sotchi or the Formula 1 Grand Prix that will take place in October, are a priority.
The Silk Way Rally has been existing for 5 years and it quickly became the second biggest Cross-Country Rally after the Dakar rally, gathering a large number of participants in both cars’ and trucks’ categories.
For 5 years, the Silk Way Rally has answered a request coming from all the competitors, offering a big international competition, professionnally organised and heavily hyped. Over the years, the Silk Way Rally has become a major event in the world of cross-country motorsports.
The head of Silk Way Rally wishes to thank the competitors for their loyalty, as well as all the organising teams, suppliers, broadcasters and partners for the quality of their work.
The next edition of the Silk Way Rally will meet the expectations of the participants and we will do everything to make the next edition a memorable race. We will remain faithfull to our philosophy « each edition must be better than the previous one ! ».
We sincerely wish to express our gratitude to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for his personal involvement and his great support in the organisation of all the editions of the Silk Way Rally.
