Imre Fodor and Márk Mesterházi finished fifth with their brand new Ford Ranger at the Superspecial of Gyulai Várfürdő Cup. The 6 km track saw a fierce battle for the top positions, the gap between the reigning Hungarian champion and provisional race leader Antal Fekete is a mere three seconds.
“We drove cautiously, on the one hand because on the Superspecial the race can only be lost not won, on the other hand because the car is so new that practically these were our first kilometres with it. The Ford runs very well, the first impression is very good. What else could I say, we are looking forward to tomorrow’s long stage!” said Imre Fodor.
On Saturday there are two 64 km and two 33 km specials on the schedule. On Sunday after three more specials the event ends with a prizegiving ceremony in the downtown of Gyula at 5 pm.
