Africa Eco Race 2015 prize-winner Kazakhstan Mobilex Racing team will participate in baja Northen Forest 2015.
The regular squad the team is bringing to Russia consists of two crews. Kanat SHAGIROV behind the wheel of a Тoyota Overdrive with a co-pilot Alexandr MOROZOV and Yury SAZONOV and Arslan Sahimov in the NZ prototype will race in the baja.
As the drivers said, they enjoyed the race last year, the team had fun and got heaps of emotions as well as considerable experience.
Yury SAZONOV: Baja Russian Northen Forest 2014 strongly impressed me with its thorough arrangement, international status and level of competition, as well as incomparable ice-and-snow routes. Driving was a real challenge as no World Cup route can boast of such terrain. A cross-country race on snow, on studded tires is good experience.
Kanat SHAGIROV: The race keeps drivers on their toes. Narrow tracks surrounded by woods, that requires deep concentration. Mistakes are no option here. It is not critical if you make a mistake when you race elsewhere, in the desert or in the wastelands. There, you may bump into a rock or just puncture a tyre while in Northern Forest, once an accident occurs, serious consequences follow. That’s why this race attracts people.
What’s the difference between snow and other surfaces?
Yury SAZONOV: This is a high speed race and your driving style is supposed to be aggressive and careful at the same time. The surface is slippery; it’s not like soil or sand; driving car on such a surface feels completely different. Having finished several stages of the World Cup we got some experience driving on different types of the ground and now we can adjust fast enough. This experience will come in handy as we are to understand the way we should refuel the cars and the maximum speed at the very beginning.
What are you aiming to in the race?
Yury SAZONOV: It would be a good result if we hit the podium.
