In relation to the unfortunate natural disasters ocurred in Chile, in Antofagasta and Atacama Region the last week of March 2015, Atacama Race Ltda, organizer of “Atacama Rally”, Fifth stage of FIM Cross Country Rally World Championship and Third Stage of the South American Championship Cross Country Rally, CODASUR, FIM-LA “informs its competitors and teams:
The date scheduled for August 30th to September 5th, will not suffer modifications in his program and the organization continues working to provide an event of first line in Chile and South America.
The routes where the event will take place have been inspected and submitted
under constant review in order to provide greater security to the event and its competitors.
In relation with the facts and being a part of a Sadness that the people spend these days in the affected regions, Atacama Rally cannot be foreign to this situation, and will work hard towards the future, Promoting a plan of tourism bigger than the structured for these regions in the month that develops the rally, helping to stimulate the necessary economic activation that is needed promptly.
So, thanks to international agreement TV promotion that FIM established, the Atacama Rally will boost a segment devoted to each place through the rally to show the beautiful landscapes of our desert and regions.
Finally, we announce that Atacama Rally will promote a plan of solidarity and support to the towns and villages most affected by the floods, through a program of social responsibility that is brewing and wants to maintain over the years.
We left the doors open to all teams and competitors who are interested in supporting this social initiative that is needed both in the towns and villages anonymous of the Atacama Desert.
