Tomas Ourednicek and Pavel Vaculik reached the finish line of the last special of Morocco Rally with 21st time, thus completing their first ever desert outing in 36th position with the Hummer H3 EVO.
The crew of Ultimate Dakar, Tomas Ourednicek and Pavel Vaculik set two goals before the start: to gain as much experience in the dunes as possible before the Dakar, and to reach the finish line. Today they achieved both: by clocking the 21st time in the 237 km last special of the most prestigeous desert event of the World Cup, they closed Morocco Rally in 36th position.
“Today’s stage was very nice, the landscape was beautiful with a view of the ocean at certain parts, but it was far from being easy. It was very fast, but quite tricky, especially in terms of navigation, with many parallel tracks. We missed the way twice but fortunately we lost only a couple of minutes with that.
The car worked well today, and we had a quite smooth stage, unlike many of the fellow competitors – along the route we saw numerous cars with problems. We are very happy about being able to finish Morocco Rally. It was a special feeling to get the medals on the final podium!” Tomas Ourednicek said smiling.
Friday’s last special of Morocoo Rally, penultimate round of FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies, was a 237 km loop stage around Agadir in the western part of the country, the crews still in race crossed the final podium on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean.
