The day was announced to be as terrific as the weather at the start of Pharaons Rally next to the Giza Pyramids, but “miss bad luck” was the uninvited guest on the roads of Thierry Magnaldi, who joined the bivouac towed by the truck.
“Everything worked great at the beginning of the special. The tracks were perfect for the RZR and I think that I was even among the best 10, in front of the buggies, which is quite satisfying. Unfortunately, at 70 km the transmission belt broke down, I changed, I lost 30 minutes and I started again. Some kilometers after it, it all started again, but this time I had to wait for my truck to tow me to CP1. Mechanics were there and we took the asphalt road, but 100 km it broke again, so I finished by being towed,” tells the X-Treme+ driver.
Tonight, the technical crew must work late to find the problem. “I am sure there is something, because that did not happen during the Silk Way. But I trust them and I know they will find the problem and solve it.”
