The Emilie Poucan Prize is awarded every year for the best picture taken by the professional photographers following the race. The jury of the 2013 edition, made up of Etienne Lavigne (director of the Dakar), Philippe Sudres (ASO), Luc Alphand (France TV) and Stefan Lhermitte (Equipe.fr), chose a photograph of then-race leader Olivier Pain struggling with the Peruvian sands between Arequipa and Arica. Frédéric Le Floc’h, a photographer for the DDPI agency, won an Edox watch, the official Dakar watch.
